Flashback Show: Doors 8pm, Show 9pm-1am | Tix: $12
Beautiful Blasts from the Past and Fabulous Future Sounds of Sistahood.

The finale of three festival events, Flashback Feedback sees the return of some of the festival’s most popular artists alongside up-and-coming talent, and gives audiences a chance to speak their minds to festival organisers.
Wrapping up the Sistahood Celebration at 9pm are Eternia (Toronto) and her band, sensational local emcees and vocalists Ndidi Casade, Kia Kadiri and Deanna, DJ She (Jane Blaze Productions) and rising star Tanika Charles (Toronto).

The concert follows a facilitated feedback session, from 6pm-8pm, that gives attendees a chance to feedback on the current and historical Sistahood Celebrations with an eye to shaping the festival’s future. The feedback session is facilitated by Working Arts Society (Sistahood Celebration) board chair Vanessa Richards and longtime Sistahood collaborator, Sara Kendall. The session features presentations by Sistahood founder Rachel Flood and festival director Anna Hilliar and stellar performances by Buzy B, Hari Alluri and Amber Dawn.

Feedback and community input have been instrumental throughout the history of Sistahood in guiding our thematic focus each year. This year’s theme, Cultural Catalysts, invites your feedback as a catalyistic source of insight, transformation and chutzpah. If you could add, subtract, reshape or envision something altogether new and crucial to the Sistahood mix what would it be? Come talk with us then we’ll dance. We Need To Talk. We Need To Dance. We Need You.

A Little History on The Heard.

Additionally, the producer of the band, Zach Webb, was featured on ‘CBC News: The National’ for producing a remix on the latest release of Canadian recording artist, “K-OS”.

Run With The Heard’s sound ranges all the way from club-ready supercharged dance anthems – synthesizer infused rock ballads, to soulful downtempo listening music, powerful and intelligent hip hop music, electro-acoustic folk and country, and just about anything you can think of. The dynamic contrast and perfect balance of so many genres, old and new, digital and organic, is a must-hear.

This 7 piece circus displays an array of diversity when it comes to sound.  The audience is shown live instruments, genre-less production and vocals being manipulated by this production with the ‘never-before-seen’ involvement of a Guitar Hero Nintendo wii Controller.  The effect is a moving electronic journey that is thoroughly entertaining to look at, hear, and experience.

The unique sound and unforgettable performance always seems to inspire movement in any crowd, and “Run With The Heard” has the makings to become one of the most interesting live acts in North America, if not the world.

In just a short time the members of The Heard have already played over a hundred shows and shared stages with the likes of: Tegan and Sara, Raekwon of the Wutang Clan,  Souls of Mischief, Blackalicious, Josh Martinez, Diana Krall, Wide Mouth Mason, Devin the Dude, Corb Lund, Cunninlinguists, My!Gay!Husband!, and Sweatshop Union, and have shared the stage with Vancouver rap legend Moka Only, and Fake Shark Real Zombie, who’s lead singer Kevin Maher regularly joins the heard during their performance.

Dilinkwit THE WORST RAPPER Challenges Vertiflow KOTD APRIL 11th 2010

So The Owner on VC ARCHIVES is also known as Vertiflow,

to be a fan click here

This kid Dilinkwit is originally From Port Coquitlam. Mr Dilinkwit decides to call Vertiflow out

due to his so called rap skills and battle performance etiquette so I thought I would share the realness on this queer ass dude, who has never won a battle ever and never beat another MC in any rounds of the Lyrical Battles we have in Vancity. Who does a song about Willie Pikton The Pig Farmer who murdered more then 60 missing women on the downtown eastside like come on thats some twisted provoking thought.

This isn’t really a piece of Vancouver history for VC ARCHIVES.COM but most local heads & people in the hiphop scene said its going to be epic, and definitly going to be some comedy for Vancouver and be one of the battles of the year due to this pathetic kid who has nothing on me, trying to get noticed off my name and what I have built on.

heres some good jokes to laugh at if your a fan of my work and & what he has done to get exposed for himself with some great publicity sit back and have nothing but laughs at a kid who trys to hard to be hiphop.

NOW HE HAS THE NERVE TO CALL ME OUT AND BATTLE ON KOTD APRIL 11th 2010. WHAT A JOKE HE THINKS IM A RETARD LOL, HAVE A LOOK AT VANCOUVER’S MOST WACKEST RAPPER YET.
