A Classic Grab given to the community by yours truly, a classic hot blended mix from the 90s, hes one of the first to do it up in the early 90s, Mr Rumble has been a major contributor to Vancouver’s music scene for 20 years. He’s the creator of Vancouver’s first all rap radio show, a 2 time Juno Award nominee (producer), and a talented DJ Mr Rumble’s true passion though is production. His trademark style is deeply rooted in the traditional production techniques of Marley Marl, DJ Premier, and Pete Rock, but with a keen interest in evolving the artform, and is displayed on such gems recorded with Checkmate, Royce the 5′9″, Concise, Birdapres, Usual Suspecs, Dilemma, Illa Brown, and Rick Threat among others.

One of the first groups to do music and have a label called Sugar Shack Records which was found by one of my favorite Vancity groups, C.I.A. Criminalz In Aktion, Social Deviantz is a Vancouver-based hip hop trio that first formed in 1992, right around the time Sugarshack became an offical label, essentially to create a hip hop sound they felt was missing somehow.

The artists have spent the last several years exploring the various branches of hip hop, following a guiding principle best summed up as “speak what you would like to hear!” Social Deviantz is composed of Fatbone, A-Train, and Junya, who are of Jamaican, Egyptian, and Caucasian descent respectively. Their multicultural foundation gives Social Deviantz a unique perspective that informs their music, giving it depth, meaning, and a wellspring of creativity.
